The Cup of Destiny by Jane Lyle, side view; made in China

It has always amused me that although tea comes from China, only one fortune telling cup and saucer set come from China. This is because the art of tea leaf reading seems to have originated in Scotland, strange as it may seem.

The Genevieve WImsatt Chinese symbol cup was made in Ohio, USA. All six variants of the Cup of Knowledge sold at the British Empire Exhibition in 1924 - 1925, although their booklet looks quite Chinese, were made in England. Only the Jane Lyle Cup of Destiny, a copy or knock-off of the British Nelros Cup of Fortune marketed by Barnes and Noble, was actually made in China.

Life's just funny that way.
