Symbol cups and saucers contain popular signs from tea reading plus other omen-symbols, such as a snake, anchor, or horseshoe. The leaves are read with their usual meanings, but their imagery is combined with the meanings traditionally given to the images upon which the tea-leaf symbols lay. For instance, a heart overlaying the symbol of a ring may mean a marriage based on love.
